Fleet-Of-Foot Assistive E-Bike Solutions
The design criteria for this E-Bike was to provide braking and shifting functions by foot due to medical reasons. This was accomplished with a SRAM Automatix rear hub with kickback brake coupled with a direct-drive front hub motor system that will utilize a push button for a front electric brake. Although there is a throttle on the handlebar, it is not normally used as this function is now controlled by a "strain gage" bottom bracket that provides additional controller power with with additonal pedal pressure. The rear battery is a 48v 10a lithium brick that is housed in a Topeak MTX rack bag that slides onto the Topeak rear rack.
